#ISWG – Starting Again

InsecureWritersSupportGroup2It is the first Wednesday of the month, and that means it is time for Insecure Writer’s Support Group.

For those not familiar with this, it was started by Alex J. Cavanaugh with the idea of picking one day to share your fears and weaknesses so that you can find comfort with other writers who likely have the same fears and weaknesses.

It’s been quite some time since I have done this, and I apologize for that. I can only hope I will be doing this more often from now on.

Official NaNoWriMo Winner

Winner-2014-Web-BannerNaNoWriMo2014 - Success

On November 16th, 2014, I officially over 50,000 words. My story, which will be turned into five books, was Daygar Legacy #1 – Templar Five. The story is about Vampires in the 14th century spreading a disease that is killing humans at an alarming rate and five knights of the former Templar Knights attempt to make a deal with the devil to try to win the war.

This was a challenging time. Mostly because of my disability, I couldn’t do as much as I wanted. I aimed to finish by the 14th like I did last year. I came close, but I was shy 2 days. I think that is still very impressive. Also, given that I am a science fiction writer and I am doing Historical Fiction, Fantasy, and Paranormal, it was hard at times for me to write. Completely out of my comfort zone. As I wrote, I had to do additional research on the time period to get key facts correct.

I want to thank the creators of Write Monkey, as with their software, I was able to write my story despite my sensitivity to light. I dedicate my success this year to all those with disabilities, whether with Post-Concussion Syndrome, those with Traumatic Brain Injuries, or other disabilities that prevents someone from living they life they want. Writing was very hard for me, and the only way I did it was by forcing myself to do it, even if my brain wanted to give up. My reward is the next two weeks off.

With Thanksgiving coming up, and a few other special projects I am currently engaged in, I am taking a break from this blog. I will come back in December, hopefully to finish up my rivers on the worldbuilding tutorial. However, I will be limited in December. I plan to come back in full force in January.

Special thanks to Nicohle Christopherson for giving me emotional support during NaNo.

IWSG — July Optimisim

IWSG badgeSo, quite a bit to talk about in this one. I try to reserve IWSG for the woes in life but too many good things have happened as of late for me to do that. Going forward, I hope the good times continue.

Of course saying that, I’m inviting impending doom. But talking about the impending doom will bring me good fortune. It all works out in the end.

Madness Blog-Con PC 14 – Day 1

We are now on Day 1 of the Madness Blog-con PC 14. This is perhaps the least exciting of days, but I do promise to give you something wet your whistle. No, not alcohol. No matter how much you beg for it. But pictures, and lots of them. Be sure to click on them, which will give you a better view. Like Phoenix Comicon, the first day of Madness Blog-con is a prep day, so nothing too too exciting here.

It is cause for celebration for me. I have released my second book, Terran Psychosis. This was actually a story I wrote before my work related injury and had intentions of publishing nearly 2 years ago and of course the accident got in the way.

Welcome to my page

I am attempting to do a blog again, my last one got deleted.  It is difficult for me to do things like this, especially given my disability.  For those who don’t know, in June of 2012, I got a concussion at work and I was later diagnoised with Post Concussion Syndrome.  It has been a grueling fight to get insurance company.

But this blog isn’t about that (not completely anyways).  Since I was young I wanted to be a published writer, but I never felt ready to do it.  For many years I wrote, but I never quite found my voice.  In the year 2001, I did try to write a story and was well on my way, until my computer got stolen from my drug addict roommates and I lost that story.  Luckily I had an earlier draft, but it wasn’t a current draft.  That set me off from writing for many years.
