When I heard a film was being made called Oblivion, then nerd in me thought it was going to be an Elder Scrolls film. I was a bit disappointed and a bit relieved. I recently watched this film and was again blown away by Tom Cruise.
As I’ve mentioned in my Jack Reacher review, I am not a big fan of the man Tom Cruise but am a huge fan of the actor. Very few films have I not liked with him as an actor. This film is no exception.
What I like about this film is several things. First is that there are many hints of there being deception in all of this right from the beginning. But it is not being drilled into you as, “It’s so obvious there is something happening you idiot”, but a subconscious thought of “something seems off, but I don’t know what”. I think this called into question of some of the panning in America that often times, as with a lot of sci-fi, it required viewers to think. Many people disliked the Matrix films for the same reasons.
We are reaching the end our first week of the A-to-Z Blog challenge. This brought to you by the letter E. Yeah, I’m sure I’m not the first to come up with that lame joke. Our words for today is Epilogue and Exposition. Two words that many writers should be familiar with, but like many of my posts, I will try to reveal more than you ever wanted to know.
I thank everyone for their support and would love to hear from you on how much you are enjoying this. Please leave your comments below.
So I recently watched the Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. But reading what others thought, it was mixed reviews. While it had a great pace and good narrative, there were a few unexplained things such as the mysterious prison escape and Tonto appearing in the right place to bury the bodies or jumping from a height onto a box car of silver.
Marvel has done amazing work in recent years with the Avengers and the movies associated, giving excitement into the movies that branch off this core movie that brings our characters together. A movie universe similar to that of Harry Potter that every person gets something to enjoy.
I feel this started with the Blade movies, but we really saw things come together with Iron Man which led us to the Avengers movie and so much built off of that. What does Marvel have in store for us with Thor: The Dark World?
